About GetResponse
GetResponse is an all-in-one online marketing software service (headquartered in Gdansk, Poland) primarily used for email marketing automation.
Following a recent upgrade to their services, you can now create landing pages and sales funnels to sell your products and services.
They offer new customers a fully functional, no credit card required 30-day free trial, and have monthly plans starting from as little as $15 per month.
What Is An Online Affiliate Program?
An affiliate program is a way for a company to get its brand out there and gain new customers without spending money upfront on advertising with no guarantee of a return on their investment.
How an affiliate program works is you recommend a product or service (in this case GetResponse) to somebody else through your automated affiliate website, YouTube channel, Facebook Ad, etc, and give your viewer/reader a link to click on which will take them to the website of what you’re promoting. When they click on your link, it places a short piece of code (known as a cookie) in their web browser that is unique to you. If that person then signs up for a free trial and becomes a GetResponse subscriber, GetResponse will know it was you (by checking for the cookie code) who referred them and will pay you a commission.
Cookies don’t last forever, but the GetResponse cookie does last for 120 days. So even if they don’t sign up straight away, the cookie is still in place for approx 4 months.
Do affiliate programs work? Yes, they do. As long as the product is good and the affiliate is honest and above all else helpful to their reader/viewer, you can earn a full-time income as an affiliate marketer.
Can You Promote GetResponse For Free?
Absolutely. You don’t have to be a subscriber to GetResponse to join their affiliate program.
However, it is best if you are a subscriber so you know how the software works properly. If you don’t know and understand how it works, you won’t be able to do a good job promoting it.
If already have a GetResponse account, you are not automatically enrolled in the affiliate program, you have to sign up on a separate webpage.

GetResponse Affiliate Commission Rates
You have two choices when you sign up for the GetResponse affiliate program:
- Affiliate Bounty Program – $100 per sign up one-off payment.
- Affiliate Recurring Program – 33% recurring monthly payment.
Affiliate Bounty Program
If you choose the GetResponse Affiliate Bounty Program you will earn per sign up a one-time-only bounty payment of $100 as soon as your referral becomes a subscriber.
Affiliate Recurring Program
If you choose the GetResponse Affiliate Recurring Program you will earn per sign up a 33% recurring monthly commission for every month your referral remains a GetResponse subscriber.
Depending on which plan your referral subscribes to, the minimum amount you could earn each month is:
- Basic Plan $15 per month. 33% recurring commission = $4.95 per month for you.
- Plus Plan $49 per month. 33% recurring commission = $16.17 per month for you.
- Pro Plan $99 per month. 33% recurring commission = $32.67 per month for you.
How And When You Get Paid Your Commissions
The GetResponse affiliate payment method is either to pay you via a direct transfer to your bank account or via PayPal.
It’s up to you which option you take, you will have to configure your payment options once you’ve signed up.
Payments are sent around the 20th of each month and you are required to have a minimum of $50 to trigger a payout.
How To Become An Affiliate
Step 1
Go to the Get Response Affiliate Program page.

Scroll down until you see this image:
Once you’ve decided which option you want, click on the Sign-Up button on the option you are choosing. See below for some workings out, if you can’t decide.
Step 3
On the following screen fill in your details, tell GetResponse how you’re going to promote them, confirm you’re not a robot, then click Create Account:
You will now see this screen informing you that GetResponse has sent an email to the address you provided. 
Step 4
Open the email from GetResponse and click Activate Your Account. You will now see this screen confirming you have completed the process:
You will also receive an email confirming the process has been completed along with a link for where to log into your account, and a reminder of your password.
How To Get Your Affiliate Link
Now that you have signed up as an affiliate, you need to get your affiliate link to start earning commissions.
Step 1
Log into your GetResponse Affiliate account.
Step 2
At the very top of the next screen is your affiliate link:
To share your link simply click Copy and share it with whoever you’re recommending GetResponse to.

Honestly, probably not if you’re new to affiliate marketing, it’s possible but will take some time and effort.
One-Off $100 Bounty Payment
If you take the one-off $100 bounty payment option and want to earn $1,000 per month, you need to get 10 sign-ups per month, that’s 10 x $100 = $1,000.
Sounds pretty easy, but unless you have a good online presence and following it will be hard to get a consistent 10 sign-ups per month every month….but not impossible!
33% Recurring Commission
If you take the 33% recurring commission option and want to earn $1,000 per month:
- Basic Plan $15 per month / $4.95 commission per month for you = You would need 202 people to subscribe to this plan.
- Plus Plan $49 per month / $16.17 commission per month for you = You would need 62 people to subscribe to this plan.
- Pro Plan $99 per month / $32.67 commission per month for you = You would need 31 people to subscribe to this plan.
Let’s compare the $100 bounty payment to the 33% recurring monthly payment, to see how many months you need someone to stay subscribed to earn roughly the same as the bounty payment.
- Basic Plan $15 per month / $4.95 commission per month for you = It would take 20 months for you to earn $99.
- Plus Plan $49 per month / $16.17 commission per month for you = It would take 6 months to earn $97.02
- Pro Plan $99 per month / $32.67 commission per month for you = It would take 3 months to earn $98.01
So, using the above workings out you can decide if you’d rather go for the $100 bounty payment or the 33% recurring commission.
Conclusion
Realistically you’re looking at the GetResponse affiliate program being a side hustle rather than a full-time income if you’re new to affiliate marketing, but the potential is there and everyone has to start somewhere.
